How we picked these

We started with 23 single cans of LOOP, from the 6.3 mg Jalapeno Lime Normal to the 15.6 mg Habanero Mint Hyper Strong, and picked Blueberry Ice, Creamy Cappuccino Strong, and Hot Peach Strong to span fruit, coffee, and heat.

We also checked pouch weight, not just the label. Hot Rhubarb Strong is 9.4 mg in a 0.376 g pouch, equal to 25.0 mg per gram – the same as Habanero Mint Hyper Strong, which packs 15.6 mg into a 0.624 g pouch. The labelled strength is not the whole story; pouch size affects concentration.

For a first can, the 6.3 mg Jalapeno Lime Normal is the lowest-strength LOOP we stock and is lime-flavoured. For higher strength in the same family, the Jalapeno Lime Extra Strong is 12.5 mg in a 0.5 g pouch. On price per pouch, the 22-count Blueberry Ice and Strawberry Ice are CA$0.77 a pouch, while 20-count cans like Creamy Cappuccino Strong are CA$0.85 a pouch.

How to choose between them

Compare milligrams per pouch across cans, but keep pouch weight in mind. LOOP's 12.5 mg Jalapeno Lime Extra Strong fits in a 0.5 g pouch, giving 25.0 mg/g, while the 9.4 mg Jalapeno Lime Strong uses a 1.044 g pouch, for only 9.0 mg/g. Same family, very different concentration.

Across the LOOP range, concentration runs from 6.3 mg/g in Jalapeno Lime Normal to 25.0 mg/g in Jalapeno Lime Extra Strong and Smooth Mint Hyper Strong. The Extra Strong packs 12.5 mg into a 0.5 g pouch; the Normal uses a full gram for 6.3 mg. That means a much denser pouch if you want it, or a lighter one if you don't.

Portion size is separate from strength. The LOOP cans we've detailed are mostly slim portions, including Blueberry Ice, Creamy Cappuccino Strong, and Hot Peach Strong. The two minis, Jalapeno Lime Mini and Red Chili Melon Mini, and the Jalapeno Lime Normal are the exceptions. The minis are the smallest pouches in the lineup; the Normal uses a 1 g pouch.
