How the pouch index is built
The index documents 329 cans across 16 brands, most of which we do not sell. This page says where each figure comes from, what the index does not know, and what has been corrected. Every number on it is counted from the records themselves when the page renders, so it cannot drift from what the records say.
What a record is
One record per labelled can — not per product family. A line made in 4, 8 and 12 mg is three cans, and a record describing “the 4/8/12 family” describes no can at all. A can is identified by brand, flavour, range, format and dose; market and manufacturer identifier belong in that list too, and no feed we read publishes either, which is why neither appears on a record.
Two records resolving to one identity are reviewed by hand. 4 have been merged and 1 judged to be genuinely different cans; both decisions are logged below, and a merged record keeps its URL and redirects to the one that survives.
Where the figures come from
Manufacturer listings and public product pages. Nothing here has been checked against a physical can or against a manufacturer’s own record, so a figure is only ever as good as the listing it came from. A row we could not source is left out rather than estimated.
- 108 records state a dose, a concentration and a pouch count that agree with each other.
- 157 are missing one of those three.
- 44 carry at least one figure their own sources disagree about. Those are listed on the record under Unresolved specifications rather than reconciled: with no can in hand, choosing between two sourced figures would be a guess wearing a decimal point.
- 20 state no dose at all.
Units, and what the conversion cannot do
Nicotine is labelled two ways: milligrams per pouch in North America, milligrams per gram of pouch material in Europe. The arithmetic between them is simple — mg per pouch = mg per gram × grams per pouch — and the pouch weight is the part nobody prints. So this index publishes a concentration in exactly two cases:
- Stated — a source printed it. 162 records.
- Derived — from that record’s own net weight over its own pouch count, which gives a weight for that specific can. 12 records.
- Neither — and then the record says so. 161 records show no concentration.
Until 26 October 2026 these pages did something else: they converted every dose through a single median weight for a slim pouch (0.59 g, measured across 496 cans that state both), including on cans this index itself labels Mini. Of the records that state both figures, 86 ended up printing a concentration their own specification table contradicted. A median is the right tool when you are comparing two cans and have nothing better — that is what the strength converter is for, and it shows its spread — and it is the wrong tool on a record that holds the real figures.
What people say, and whose words
Summaries are written from independent discussion — forum threads, Reddit and review blogs. Retailer review sections and shop pages are excluded: that is somebody else’s customer research, and a shop’s own ratings are not evidence about a pouch.
A source is kept only when it names the brand, and it counts as evidence about a particular can only when it names the flavour too. That distinction does most of the work: a search for a cinnamon pouch returns every brand’s cinnamon pouch, and crediting those to one record is how a page comes to claim a dozen discussions it never had. 1554 sources are stored across 323 records, 219 of which have at least one source naming the exact variant. Each record says what it has rather than printing a bare count.
Publication dates are shown where the search engine reports one. We do not link out to sources or name their hostnames on the page — a commercial page that prints a list of somebody else’s domains is doing something other than documenting a product — and the full list, URLs included, is kept with each record in the repository so an error can be traced.
What a record does not repeat
A record has four prose blocks and they used to say the same things. Measured across the index, 79% of the words in a record’s Key points already appeared in its own description, its About text or its specification table — “20 pouches per tin” as a bullet above a table row reading the same. Only the 345 bullets of 1852 that add a fact the rest of the page does not state are shown, and the section is simply absent on the records where nothing survives.
The maker’s own marketing copy is quoted under their name rather than folded into ours, on the 250 records where it is quotable English prose — several brands store Swedish copy or a “Vikt: 11 G” spec dump, which is why it is tested before it is shown. It is a claim, and it is labelled as one.
55 records also list the strengths other shelves carry the same flavour at, which is the one piece of market data worth printing. Prices are collected and deliberately never shown: a figure scraped months ago is a specific false number, and this index carries no price for the same reason it carries no buy button on a product we may not sell.
Corrections
- Tobacco Free Nicotine Pouches In Cinnamon Flavor - Cinnabuzz · 2026-10-26
- The feed title ends '(Copy)' — a Shopify duplication artefact, not part of the product name. Printed as the product's name on its own record and in the RUSH brand listing.
- Tobacco Free Nicotine Pouches In Wintergreen Flavor - Winter Blast · 2026-10-26
- The feed misspells Wintergreen as 'Wintergeen'. Corrected because a reference index that reprints a typo as a product name is documenting the feed rather than the product; the original is kept as sourceName.
Merged and separated records
- Après Bananas - Mini · merged one record · 2026-10-26
- Both records state 3.2 mg per pouch, 8 mg/g, Mini format and 20 pouches per can — one can, published twice, with the format missing from one title. The surviving record is the one that names the variant and states a net weight. The duplicate record's net weight row states 8 g (content per can) and 11 g (manufacturer label) for the same can.
- ZYN Black Cherry X-Low 1.5mg · merged one record · 2026-10-26
- Same brand, flavour, X-Low range, Mini format and 1.5 mg dose; one title names the format and the other does not. The surviving record is the one that states a pouch count.
- ZYN Cool Mint X-Low 1.5mg · merged one record · 2026-10-26
- Same brand, flavour, X-Low range, Mini format, 1.5 mg dose and 10 pouches per can on both records.
- ZYN Spearmint X-Low 1.5mg · merged one record · 2026-10-26
- Same brand, flavour, X-Low range, Mini format and 1.5 mg dose; one title names the format and the other does not.The duplicate record states 10 pouches per can against this record's 20. Neither has been checked against a can, and the two ZYN X-Low records for other flavours disagree the same way.
- LUCY Clear Unflavored Pouches and LUCY Clear Non-flavored Pouches · kept separate · 2026-10-26
- Reviewed as a family row standing beside one of its own variants. LUCY publishes Clear at 4, 8 and 12 mg; the first record documents the line and renders as a range, the second documents the 12 mg can. They are kept apart rather than merged because the index holds no 4 mg or 8 mg Clear record for the range row to fold into, and merging would delete the only statement that the other two strengths exist. The right end state is one record per strength, which needs a rebuild of the LUCY brand file.
Renamed records
8 records arrived with a duplication artefact in their address — a handle ending -copy, because the brand duplicated its own product and kept the old one. One of them addressed a cherry pouch as apple. The addresses were corrected and the old ones still work.
- kurwa-collection-max-fizzy-cherry-43mg · was kurwa-collection-max-fizzy-apple-copy · 2026-10-29
- The feed handle says apple and the product is KURWA COLLECTION MAX Fizzy Cherry 43MG: the brand duplicated its apple product, renamed the copy and kept the handle. The slug follows the name, and the old URL redirects.
- tobacco-free-nicotine-pouches-in-cinnamon-flavor-cinnabuzz · was tobacco-free-nicotine-pouches-in-cinnamon-flavor-cinnabuzz-copy · 2026-10-29
- A trailing Shopify duplication artefact in the handle, matching the '(Copy)' that was corrected out of the name.
- tobacco-free-nicotine-pouches-in-wintergreen-flavor-winter-blast · was tobacco-free-nicotine-pouches-in-wintergeen-flavor-winter-blast-copy · 2026-10-29
- Drops the duplication artefact and carries the Wintergreen spelling correction into the URL, so the slug and the displayed name agree.
- tobacco-free-nicotine-pouches-in-ice-cold-mint-flavor-mintsanity · was tobacco-free-nicotine-pouches-in-ice-cold-mint-flavor-mintsanity-copy · 2026-10-29
- A trailing Shopify duplication artefact in the handle.
- tobacco-free-nicotine-pouches-in-citrus-flavor-citrus · was tobacco-free-nicotine-pouches-in-citrus-flavor-citrus-copy-1 · 2026-10-29
- A trailing Shopify duplication artefact in the handle, numbered because the brand had made two copies.
- sesh-mint-nicotine-pouches · was sesh-mint-nicotine-pouches-copy · 2026-10-29
- A trailing Shopify duplication artefact in the handle; this is the only Sesh+ Mint record.
- sesh-mango-nicotine-pouches · was sesh-mango-nicotine-pouches-copy · 2026-10-29
- A trailing Shopify duplication artefact in the handle; this is the only Sesh+ Mango record.
- sesh-clear-nicotine-pouches · was sesh-clear-nicotine-pouches-copy · 2026-10-29
- A trailing Shopify duplication artefact in the handle; this is the only Sesh+ Clear record.
