Snus is dark because it is made from ground tobacco leaf, and tobacco leaf is brown. A white nicotine pouch contains no leaf at all — the filler is pale plant fibre such as cellulose or eucalyptus, with nicotine added separately — so there is no pigment to darken it.

What is actually inside each one

Why the colour difference shows up on cloth and in the can
