Nicotine Pouches Canada · Updated · 14 min read
There are 70 nicotine pouch brands on our shelf and 1,047 single cans between them, which is more choice than anybody needs and less help than it sounds. This page is the shortcut: what each of the brands worth knowing actually makes, in numbers rather than adjectives, so you can skip the ones that are not for you and go straight to the two or three that are.
How this list was put together
Every figure below is read from our own catalogue rather than from a brand's marketing. Dose per pouch, nicotine per gram, pouches per can, pouch weight and format come from a fact sheet held per product, and the taste scores come from the same place. Where a can does not state a figure, this page says so instead of estimating one — 713 of the 1,047 cans print a dose, and the rest are described by their format and their range.
No brand paid to be here and nothing on this page is a sponsored slot. The ordering below is by what each brand is useful for, not by what it earns us: every single can on this shelf is the same price, so we have no commercial reason to push one over another. Where we have an opinion we say it in a sentence you can argue with, and where the data does not support an opinion we leave it out.
One thing to settle before the list. The number printed on a can is milligrams per pouch, but what you feel is closer to milligrams per gram — the same dose spread through a heavier pouch lands softer. A 4 mg slim from KLINT is 5.7 mg/g; a 4 mg slim from Garant is 9.3 mg/g, because Garant's pouch weighs 0.43 g against KLINT's 0.7 g. Same number on the lid, most of a band apart in the lip. Both figures are on every product page, and the strength converter will translate between them.

Counts are single cans currently listed, excluding multi-can packs. Dose ranges cover the cans in each range that print a figure.
Read the table by column rather than by row. The dose column is the one that eliminates brands fastest: RaBBiT starts at 26 mg, so it is not a brand you try first, and KLINT never leaves 3.2–4.2 mg, so it is not a brand you grow into. The pouches-per-can column is the one nobody checks and the one that quietly decides value, because every can here costs the same.
The cans column is a proxy for how much room a brand gives you to stay put. VELO at 109 cans and 45 flavours will keep offering you something new for a year; White Fox at 9 cans and 4 flavours is a brand you pick because you want that specific thing. Neither is better. They are answers to different questions.
If you have never used a pouch before
Start below 4 mg and start with mint, because mint is the flavour family with the most cans behind it — 207 of them — so if you like it you will never run out of options, and if you do not, you will have learned that from one can rather than five.
ZYN has the lowest dose on the whole shelf: the mini X-Low cans are 1.5 mg, which is genuinely gentle, and the brand runs all the way to 16.5 mg if you later want it to. Helwit is the other honest starting point — 1.8 mg to 7.5 mg across 24 cans, all slim, with Helwit MINT Light at 3.5 mg and 7 mg/g sitting almost exactly in the middle of the beginner range. Après is the third, and the one to pick if you want to step down as well as up: four of its cans contain no nicotine at all.
KLINT deserves a specific mention here because of what its numbers do not do. Every KLINT can is between 3.2 mg and 4.2 mg — a one-milligram spread across 25 cans and 17 flavours. That makes it the brand where changing flavour cannot accidentally change strength, which is exactly the mistake a first month is made of. KLINT MINT #1 SLIM Light is 4 mg in a 0.7 g pouch, or 5.7 mg/g — among the gentlest 4 mg cans we carry, and a good calibration point for every other can you will try.
What to skip at this stage: anything labelled by its per-gram figure rather than its dose, anything above about 6 mg, and — counter-intuitively — the mini format, if you want to actually taste the flavour. Minis hold less material, so they are more discreet and they fade faster. There is a fuller version of this argument in our guide for beginners.
The everyday brands
This is where most people end up, and it is the least dramatic part of the shelf. VELO is the broadest range we carry — 109 cans, 45 flavours, 0 mg to 17 mg, in mini, slim and large — which makes it the default answer for somebody who wants one brand to cover every mood. VELO Bright Spearmint Mini is a fair sample of the house style: 4 mg in a 0.5 g mini, 8 mg/g, mint 6 and sting 4 out of 10. Clean rather than cold.
ZYN is the brand most people arrive already knowing the name of, and its range is unusually well spaced — 1.5, 3, 6, 6.5, 9, 11, 13.5 and 16.5 mg, so you can move one step at a time without changing brand or flavour. On! covers the same ground in a smaller can and is worth knowing if you find slims obtrusive: 3 mg to 9 mg, mostly mini, 13 flavours.
Kelly White and KLAR sit a little above that, at 4–10 mg and 3–9.4 mg respectively, and both are the sort of range you move to after a few months rather than start with. Kelly White Cool Mint at 7 mg and 14 mg/g is a good marker for what the top of comfortable feels like — noticeably more than a 4 mg can, and a long way from the strong end below.
Killa and NOIS are the two everyday brands with a value argument attached, and it is a real one rather than a discount. Both put 30 pouches in a can where almost everybody else puts 20, at the same price. KILLA Niclab Flash Light is 4 mg in a 0.8 g normal-format pouch — 5 mg/g, the gentlest 4 mg per gram we stock — and NOIS Cool Strong Light is 4 mg in a 0.5 g slim at 8 mg/g. Same dose, same can size, half a band apart in feel.
The strong end, and how to read it
Of the 713 cans that print a dose, 99 sit between 16 mg and 30 mg and another 66 are above 30 mg. That top band is a small part of the shelf and a large part of what gets searched for, so it is worth being plain about what is in it.
PABLO is the best-known of them and starts at 14.4 mg, which is already past where most people stop. PABLO Exclusive Blue Mint is 30 mg in a 0.6 g pouch, 50 mg/g, and rates a 10 out of 10 for sting. Cuba goes further — 10.2 mg to 43 mg across 61 cans, with the Black range at 66 mg/g. RaBBiT has the highest floor of any brand we carry: its lightest can is 26 mg, and its Peppermint is 50 mg at 77 mg/g, the densest pouch on the shelf.
Iceberg is the odd one out here because it spans the entire shelf on its own — 0 mg to 50 mg across 74 cans — so naming it as a strong brand is only half true. If you want its top end, look for the 50 mg cans specifically; if you want the rest of it, Iceberg Watermelon Mint Gum is 4 mg at 6.7 mg/g and scores 6 for fruit against 4 for mint. White Fox sits between the two worlds at 12–24 mg across only nine cans, all but one of them some form of mint.
Nicotine per gram is the figure to compare at this end, not milligrams per pouch. A 26 mg slim at 40 mg/g and a 30 mg pouch at 50 mg/g are a quarter apart in concentration despite looking four milligrams apart on the lid.
Format, and the outliers worth knowing
Slim is the default: 538 of our cans are slim, against 86 mini and 30 large. Slim sits along the gum without much to notice, mini is shorter and thinner and disappears entirely, and large holds more material and therefore more flavour for longer. Format changes how a dose feels more than most people expect, which is why the same 4 mg turns up at 5.7 mg/g in one brand and 9.3 mg/g in another.
Two brands do something the others do not. XQS makes the only super slim cans on the shelf, which is the most discreet format anybody produces and the one to look at if the ordinary slim is still too obvious. Killa makes one of only two maxi cans on the shelf, at the opposite end, and the only two normal-format cans as well. Neither format is a gimmick; both answer a question the standard slim cannot.
If format is the thing you care about most, the shelf is filtered by it — every slim pouch and every mini have their own rundowns, and the full range can be narrowed by format, strength and flavour together.
Pouches per can: the figure nobody checks
Twenty pouches is the industry default and 60 of our brands use it, so almost nobody looks. The ones that do not are worth knowing about, because every single can on this shelf costs the same regardless of what is in it.
- Iceberg — 40 pouches in some cans, double the standard, the largest count we carry.
- Garant — 27 pouches in every can that prints a count, which is 29 of its 31.
- Killa and NOIS — 30 pouches, at the same price as a 20-pouch can.
- KLINT, Skruf and Stellar — 24 pouches.
- Royal White and LOOP — 22 pouches.
- ZYN — 21 pouches in part of its range.
- White Fox — 15 pouches in one can, the smallest count on the shelf.
In per-pouch terms that spread runs from about CA$0.42 to CA$1.13, which is the widest genuine price variation on the shelf and it is entirely a function of the count. The floor and the ceiling are both worth naming: a 40-pouch Iceberg can works out at about CA$0.42 a pouch, and the 15-pouch White Fox can at CA$1.13, which is a hair under three times as much. One caveat on that floor — the 40-pouch Iceberg cans are 33.3 mg each, so they are the cheapest per pouch and emphatically not a beginner's can. If cost per use is what you are optimising at an ordinary strength, Garant, Killa and NOIS are the answer, and there is a longer version of it in our value guide and on the cheapest cans page.
Brands that make a nicotine-free pouch
Nine cans on the shelf contain no nicotine at all, spread across five brands: Après has four, VELO has two, and Iceberg, XQS and Lagom have one each. They are the same white pouch in the same flavours, built around plant fibre and flavouring, and they behave the same way under the lip. Aprés Zero No.2 Mint scores 8 out of 10 for mint, which is higher than most of the dosed mint cans in this article.
One warning about how these are labelled across the whole category, ours included until we changed it. Several zero-nicotine cans are printed as Light, because the upstream product data classifies rows by format rather than by dose. Nought is not a starter strength; it is nought. Every product page here reads the dose and says Nicotine Free, and the nicotine-free range is filtered on the figure rather than on the word.
What it costs to buy any of them in Canada
Every single can on this shelf is CA$17.00, or US$14.00, and CA$15.00 when a line is marked down. That is deliberate and it is the reason this page can be about the pouch rather than about the price: no brand here is cheaper than another, so the choice is entirely about dose, format, count and flavour. What varies is cost per pouch, and that follows the count, as above.
Orders ship from 1751 Savage Rd, Richmond, BC V6V 1R1, across Canada and to the United States, and shipping is free over CA$100 — which is six cans, so a first order that samples three or four brands generally lands under it and a restock generally does not. Everything is priced in Canadian dollars, so there is no conversion, no customs form and no brokerage charge at the door, which is the practical difference between buying here and ordering the same brands from Europe. Full detail is on the shipping page, and the legal position in Canada is set out in our answer on that.
You must be 21 or older to buy. That applies to every can in this article, including the nine with no nicotine in them.
Common questions
What are the best nicotine pouch brands in Canada?
It depends where you sit on the dose ladder, which is why this page is organised that way rather than as a countdown. For a first can, ZYN, Helwit and KLINT are the three that make it hardest to get wrong. For everyday use, VELO has the broadest range and Killa and NOIS give the most pouches per dollar. For the strong end, PABLO, Cuba and RaBBiT are the three that go there deliberately.
Which nicotine pouch brand is strongest?
By dose per pouch, Iceberg and RaBBiT both reach 50 mg. By concentration — which is closer to what you feel — RaBBiT Peppermint at 77 mg/g is the densest pouch we carry, just ahead of Iceberg's 50 mg cans at 75 mg/g. RaBBiT also has the highest floor of any brand here: its lightest can is 26 mg.
Which brand should a beginner start with?
One that cannot surprise you. KLINT keeps its whole 25-can range between 3.2 mg and 4.2 mg, so changing flavour cannot change strength. ZYN's mini X-Low at 1.5 mg is the lowest stated dose on the shelf if you want to start lower still, and Helwit's range starts at 1.8 mg.
How many pouches are in a can?
Twenty, for 60 of the 70 brands here. The exceptions matter because the price does not change: Iceberg puts 40 in some cans, Garant puts 27 in every can, Killa and NOIS put 30 in theirs, and KLINT, Skruf and Stellar use 24. Per pouch the shelf runs from about CA$0.42 on a 40-pouch Iceberg can to CA$1.13 on the 15-pouch White Fox can, and the count is nearly all of that difference.
Are the expensive brands better than the cheap ones?
There are no expensive brands here — every single can is the same CA$17.00. Across the wider category, price tracks brand recognition and import volume rather than what is in the pouch, and several of the least famous names on this shelf come out of the same Scandinavian production as the most famous ones.
Which brands make a pouch with no nicotine?
Après, VELO, Iceberg, XQS and Lagom — nine cans between them. They use the same pouch material and the same flavourings as their dosed ranges. They are not a therapeutic product and we make no such claim for them; they are a flavoured pouch with nothing in it.
Is one brand's 4 mg the same as another's?
No, and this is the single most useful thing on this page. A 4 mg KLINT slim is 5.7 mg/g because the pouch weighs 0.7 g; a 4 mg Garant slim is 9.3 mg/g because it weighs 0.43 g. Same figure on the lid, most of a strength band apart in practice. Compare nicotine per gram when two cans state the same dose.
If you want one instruction rather than seventeen: pick your dose first, your format second, and your brand last. The dose narrows 70 brands to about a dozen, the format narrows it again, and by that point the brand is a flavour preference rather than a decision. Doing it the other way round — picking a name you recognise and then finding out what strength it comes in — is how people end up with a can they never finish.
Every brand named here ships from our own warehouse in British Columbia in Canadian dollars, which is the short answer to why this list is drawn from one shelf rather than from the market at large: it is what a Canadian warehouse actually carries, not a survey of everything printed on a can somewhere. Browse the full range, the complete brand directory, the flavour families or the ranked shelf, and if you are buying for a shop rather than for yourself, the wholesale terms are separate.
Brand is the coarse filter; the can is the decision. Once you have a shortlist of two or three names, the thirteen cans we would actually recommend puts specific products against specific reasons to buy them, with the cost per pouch worked out on every one.
