Strength

XQS keeps strength easy to understand. 11 of the 35 cans we stock are 4 mg in a 0.5 g pouch (8.0 mg/g), and 18 are 8 mg in the same 0.5 g pouch (16.0 mg/g). So a Light like XQS Black Cherry Light Slim and a Strong like XQS Apple Crisp Strong share the same portion weight – you are just doubling the nicotine, not changing the pouch. XQS Arctic Freeze stands apart at 11.2 mg in a larger 0.7 g pouch.

Après works differently. Its 3.2 mg minis (No.13 Mochaccino Mini) come in a 0.4 g pouch, while its 4 mg lights (No.10 Tangerine Spritz) use a 0.55 g slim. That means the minis are actually more concentrated per gram (8.0 mg/g vs 7.3 mg/g). At the top end, Après Bananas Hyper Strong packs 11 mg into the same 0.55 g pouch, giving 20.0 mg/g.

Which should you buy? If you want one consistent concentration across a wide flavour list, XQS is the simpler pick – most of its range is built on that 0.5 g portion. If you want to separate pouch size from nicotine dose, or you want something below 4 mg, Après has the minis and a wider spread from 3.2 mg to 11 mg.

  • Light — 1.5–4 mg per pouch (177 cans listed, in stock or not). Where to start. Enough to feel, mild enough to sit with for an hour.
  • Normal — 4.2–6 mg per pouch (76 cans listed, in stock or not). The everyday strength — enough to feel without taking over the afternoon.
  • Strong — 6.3–12 mg per pouch (259 cans listed, in stock or not). A firm kick and a real tingle. Not a first pouch.
  • Extra Strong — 12.5–20 mg per pouch (96 cans listed, in stock or not). Heavy hitters for a tolerance that is already built.
  • Super Strong — 22.2–30 mg per pouch (70 cans listed, in stock or not). Serious doses, for a tolerance that is already well established.
  • Extreme — 32.5–50 mg per pouch (70 cans listed, in stock or not). The highest doses we list. Far above any Canadian-authorized product.

Flavour and format

The flavour split is about exclusives, not volume. We stock 49 Après and 35 XQS, and both share berry, mint, citrus, apple, licorice. Only Après has coffee (No.13 Mochaccino), Hugo Spritz, Limoncello, Julmust, Lingonberry; only XQS has Arctic Freeze, Cactus Sour, Caramel, Wintergreen, Tropical. For peach iced tea or pink spritz, go Après; for wintergreen or cactus sour, XQS is the only source.

Format also divides them: Après offers minis like No.13 Mochaccino Mini and Raspberry Liqorice Mini, while no XQS product we carry has 'Mini' in its name. So a smaller pouch favors Après.

Tasting data separates similar flavours. XQS Blueberry Mint Light Slim scores sting 6, mint 5, fruit 7; Wintergreen Light is sting 5, mint 6. Après's Tangerine Spritz is sting 2, fruit 8, and Ice Tea Peach is mint 2, fruit 7. For mint-forward kick, go XQS; for gentle sweet fruit, choose Après's tangerine or peach iced tea.

Every XQS can we stock is CA$14.00, so price never factors into the choice. The range is mostly a 0.5 g slim pouch, but three cans break from that standard: Arctic Freeze, The Peppermint, and The Spearmint. The flavour list is long, spanning Peach, Raspberry, Cola, and Licorice, with unusual names like Deep and Fizzy Cola alongside the more familiar fruit and mint options.

Of those three, The Peppermint and The Spearmint are the most distinct. They use a 0.75 g pouch — noticeably larger than the 0.5 g slims — and come in at 10 mg and 6 mg respectively. If you want a bigger pouch with a different feel, these are the two XQS cans for you.

For most of the range, the pouch and price are constant, so your decision is flavour first, strength second. If you want a change in pouch size, the trio above is where XQS offers it.

Price and availability in Canada

Both brands sit at the same price: CA$14.00 a can, or CA$0.70 per pouch. That puts them at the top of our single-can range, where prices run CA$12.00 to CA$14.00. So the choice between Après and XQS never comes down to cost — it comes down to how many different cans you want to try.

Après has 49 single cans in stock, XQS has 35. If you're building one order to sample widely, the larger Après range lets you fill a cart with more distinct flavours in a single purchase. At CA$14.00 a can, eleven cans crosses our CA$150 free-shipping threshold, so mixing both brands in one order is easy: a couple of XQS slims and a couple of Après minis, for example, and you're there.

Both brands ship from us across Canada. Price and availability don't separate them, so your decision rests on which brand's flavour list and pouch format you prefer.

Common questions

Is XQS stronger than Après?

The XQS pouches we stock run 4–17 mg per pouch. Compare that against the figure printed on the Après can — milligrams per pouch is the only number that compares directly.

Do you stock both Après and XQS?

Yes. Both ship from Richmond, BC right across Canada, priced in Canadian dollars.

Do XQS pouches contain tobacco?

No. They are all-white pouches with a plant-fibre filler rather than tobacco leaf.

Total nicotine per can varies more with Après. The 3.2 mg minis such as No.13 Mochaccino Mini carry 64 mg per 20-pouch can, while the 11 mg Hyper Strong cans (Après Bananas Hyper Strong, for example) carry 220 mg. XQS's 4 mg slims like Black Cherry Light Slim hold 80 mg, and the 10 mg The Peppermint is 200 mg. If you want the biggest single-can dose in this comparison, Après Hyper Strong wins; for the smallest, the Après minis are the most gentle.

Concentration follows a similar split. Across the entire Après line we stock, it runs from 5.1 mg/g (Bananas Mini) to 20.0 mg/g (Hyper Strong). XQS stays between 8.0 and 16.0 mg/g, with most of the range sitting on a 0.5 g pouch. So XQS is the easier mental model: same pouch, simple strength steps. Après rewards a closer look at both pouch weight and nicotine strength, which is useful if you want to fine-tune the sensation.

Comparing Rogue with XQS is really a question of what transfers between two cans and what does not. The flavour name does not. Milligrams per pouch and the amount of material carrying them do. Here is how the two line up on both.

Après or ZEUS is a fair question — they overlap enough that the differences only show up once you put the cans next to each other. Here is that comparison, using our live stock rather than a manufacturer's brochure.
